About me
Illustrator, character designer & paper art creator
Hi! I’m Ingrid, a Dutch illustrator and character designer with a love for bold visuals, playful storytelling, and all things creepy-cute and quirky illustration.
My work is shaped by travel, low-brow art, pop surrealism, folklore, movies, the animal kingdom, and urban life - a mix that shows up in my expressive characters, vibrant color palettes, and curious handmade details.
Illustration, character design & creative process
With over a decade of experience in digital design, I’ve worked across online art auctions, the gambling and gaming industry, and eCommerce. Today, my focus is on creating illustration work that blends concept, craft, and personality.
My illustration tutorials and creative process are a big part of what I share. I love pulling back the curtain; showing how ideas grow from sketches into finished artwork, paper sculptures, or animated pieces.
3D paper art tutorials & handmade motion flipbooks
Alongside client work, I create and share 3D paper art tutorials, printable templates, and behind-the-scenes content to help other creatives learn by doing.
I’m especially passionate about:
-
3D paper art and sculptural illustration
-
Handmade motion flipbooks and tactile animation
-
Turning flat illustrations into interactive, physical objects
My tutorials are designed to be clear, accessible, and fun, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced illustrator looking to explore new techniques.
Creepy-cute, handmade & playful by design
Everything I create sits somewhere between cute and creepy, polished and handmade. That balance is intentional. I believe illustration should feel alive... a little imperfect, full of character, and slightly unexpected.
Through my blog and shop, I share:
All rooted in a creepy-cute, handmade, tutorial-driven approach.
you can follow me on Instagram for the latest illustrations and tutorials.
Let’s make something wild
Whether you’re here to learn, explore my creative process, or find illustration resources and digital downloads; welcome.
If you’re a brand, fellow artist, or curious creative looking for visuals with personality, I’d love to collaborate.
Let’s bring something bold, playful, and wonderfully weird to life.
- Ingrid
